Benedict Cumberbatch on Sesame Street

Sesame Street recently featured Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock and Star Trek: Into Darkness).  The PBS YouTube Channel posted the video "Benedict Cumberbatch and the Sign of Four (or is it Three?)" on February 4th.

In the video embedded below, Cumberbatch is featured along with Murray and The Count.  Murray is confused to Cumberbatch's true identity and thinks that he is Sherlock Holmes.

Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge Premiers March 25

The Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge will premier Tuesday March 25, 2014 on Syfy.  The series will features ten artist competing to win $100,000 and contract to work at the Jim Henson's Creature Shop.

"Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge is a competition series featuring ten aspiring creature creators competing to out-imagine one another in a series of challenges where they will build everything from mechanical characters to whimsical beasts, bringing high-end inanimate creature designs to life. The contestants compete for a prize worth up to $100,000 including the opportunity for the job of a lifetime - a contract working at the world-renowned Jim Henson’s Creature Shop™."

John Henson, Jim Henson's Son, Dies at only 48

John Henson, Jim Henson's son, died of a heart attack Friday. Please keep the Henson family in your prayers including his wife and two daughters.  

John Henson was the muppeteer behind Sweetums, and was a shareholder and board member of The Jim Henson Company.

Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge Coming to Syfy

Variety is reporting that the Syfy network has green lit a new reality show featuring contestants vying for a job with Jim Henson's Creature Shop.  According to Variety, to participants will have to create "everything from hand puppets to large-scale theatrical creatures that can master the balance between realism and fantasy."  Read more at "Muppet-Building Contest Show Coming to Syfy."

The current Syfy show Face Off, which is in it's fifth season, features a similar concept in which contestants compete using their sculpting, painting, and make-up skills to create a wide range of designs and creatures.  The Face Off  participants are competing for $100,000, a new 2013 Fiat 500 car and a trip to Kryolan Professional Make-up location.
