Miss Piggy Will Be a Guest on Anderson March 15

Miss Piggy will be a featured guest on the Anderson tomorrow, Thursday March 15, 2012, to promote the upcoming The Muppets blu-ray release next Tuesday.  CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta will also be a guest on the show.

Vote for Your Favorite Muppet in the 2012 Muppet Madness

The 2012 Muppet Madness Tournament is presented by The Muppet Mindset, ToughPigs, and The MuppetCast (which has returned at least for the span of the Tournament).

Courtney Love Upset with The Muppets

TMZ is reporting that Courtney Love, widow of deceased Nirvana front-man Kurt Cobain, is upset that she did not give her approval for "Smells Like Teen Spirit" to be included in the recent Muppet movie.

However, Love sold half of her rights to Cobain's music to Primary Wave Music, and according to the TMZ article "not only did Primary Wave approve the use in the Muppet's movie, they got permission from the two surviving Nirvana members -- Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic."

The Muppets Will Receive Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Next Tuesday the day of The Muppets release on Blu-Ray and DVD , the Muppets will also be receiving the long overdue star on the Holllywood Walk of Fame. Diszine.com is reporting the details of the event, including the guest who will including guest speakers The Walt Disney Studios Chairman Rich Ross, CEO of The Jim Henson Company Lisa Henson, and Actor/Writer of The Muppets Jason Segel.

"On Tuesday, March 20 at 11:30 AM, the Muppets will receive the 2,466th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the category of Motion Pictures. The star and ceremony will be located at 6834 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the El Capitan Theatre." For more details visit Diszine.com.

Jim Henson, Kermit the Frog, Big Bird and Bernie Brillstein (longtime Henson manager) already have stars on the Holllywood Walk of Fame.

Sesame Street Live Open Auditions This Friday

This Friday, March 16, Sesame Street Live is holding open auditions at 2 pm in Philadelphia, PA at Liacouras Center. More detailed information can be found at veeauditions1.ning.com.

They are seeking Full Body Custume Characters with versatile dance abilities with a heights between 4'11" to 6'1". They are also seeking Female Live-Mic Performers in a height range of 5'2" to 5'7" who can sing, dance and act.

Lindsay Lohan in a Muppet Movie?

Disney has recently tasked the director, James Bobin, and co-writer, Nicholas Stoller, of The Muppets (2011) to write the script for the upcoming Muppet movie.  Perez Hilton is reporting that Lindsay Lohan wants to play a major role in the new Muppet movie.

A few years ago, this would have sounded like a much better fit after roles in Freaky Friday and Herbie, but since then Lohan's career and personal life have seemed to go down hill.  Could the Muppets be the redemption of Lohan's career?  If any more details emerge, we will report them here.

Disney Considering All Options for Muppets

The recent successful return to the big screen and Oscar win for The Muppets has possibly opened the doors for the Muppets to return to TV.    According to The Guardian, "Senior Disney executive says company considering all options for the show after film wins best song Oscar."  Read more at The Guardian "The Muppets could return to TV after movie success."

Hopefully the renewed interest will also bring season 4 and season 5 of the original Muppet Show to DVD.

The Muppets Hunger Games Parody Trailer

There is yet another new Muppets Parody Trailer! This time the Muppets are parodying the upcoming Hunger Games movie in an ad for the upcoming The Muppets Blu-Ray and DVD release on March 20th. The trailer is embedded below:

The Hunger Games is a the first of a trilogy of young adult novels by Suzanne Collins. The Hunger Games has made made into a major motion picture which will be released in the U.S. on March 23, 2012. The movie has already broken Twilight's record of pre-sold tickets.
