"Ty Burrell, one of the stars of ABC's Modern Family, is set to join the cast of Disney's sequel to The Muppets as one of the movie’s human stars. The adventure moves from Hollywood to Europe, and while the film is expected to have a slew of cameos -- as is the Muppets' movie tradition -- one of the key roles is an Interpol inspector, whom Burrell will portray." Jim Henson Company Ends Partnership with Chick-fil-A
The Jim Henson Company has ended their partnership with the privately owned fast food company, Chick-fil-A. A statement from the Jim Henson Company was released via their Facebook page.
Controversy arose a few days ago, when media outlets started reporting about an article that was released via the Baptist Press on July 16. Dan Cathy, President and COO of Chick-fila-A, in the article made the following statements.
"The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness for over fifty years and we have notified Chick-Fil-A that we do not wish to partner with them on any future endeavors. Lisa Henson, our CEO is personally a strong supporter of gay marriage and has directed us to donate the payment we received from Chick-Fil-A to GLAAD."
When mainstream entertainment sites have reported on this news, almost all of the headlines have read something similar to EW's "Kermit's no longer a fan of Chick-Fil-A." Kermit or The Muppets have been mentioned in most of the articles that I've seen, even though the Muppets were sold to Disney in a 2004 deal. Since then, the rights to Kermit along with the other Muppets belong to the Muppet Studio and The Walt Disney Company.

"Well, guilty as charged," said Cathy when asked about the company's position. "We are very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that. "We operate as a family business ... our restaurants are typically led by families; some are single. We want to do anything we possibly can to strengthen families. We are very much committed to that," Cathy emphasized. "We intend to stay the course," he said. "We know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles."
